It turns out that U.S. households with annual incomes of more
than $125,000
are more likely than the average household to do things like
clip coupons and
shop at discount stores -- not exactly what you think of as
having "made it."
Yes, there are many parts of the country where that kind of
income doesn't
go so far. But it appears that households that have moved into
the upper
echelons - that $125,000 income mark puts such earners in the
top 7 percent
nationwide - retain many middle-class values.
